Recently, we reviewed the ICY DOCK MB722 HDD enclosure and had good impressions despite a couple of negative features. ICY DOCK also sent us a different model, the MB122, to try out. How will this version rate overall and when compared with the other model? Read on to find out.

The MB122 SATA HDD enclosure came in a sturdy cardboard box displaying the product and many of its features. The front shows the enclosure with its bold faceplate, and the back of the box has highlights of some of the key features and a list of the specifications.

Opening the box, the enclosure was well-protected in bubblewrap. Opening the box, you simply find the enclosure and a set of instructions in color.

Unlike the previously reviewed MB722 enclosure, the MB122 has a more understated, plain black front panel/door. No removable faceplates to deal with in this model.
