As to be expected with Geeks products, the Movie World HDD Enclosure arrived well-packaged in a large cardboard box. The package has a simple picture of the enclosure on the front and a list of specifications on the back. Perhaps the most important specification is what type of hard drive the enclosure uses; it supports IDE hard drives only (not the newer SATA drives). I actually don’t have a problem with this, since IDE hard drives are typically cheaper and easy to find; I have a bunch from old computer builds. Hopefully the slower transfer speeds don’t slow down the playback.

Opening the package, we find the enclosure securely packaged inside some custom cardboard inserts. Along with the enclosure itself, the package comes with a stand, remote control, installations software, and cables/power supply. The only thing that you need to provide is the hard drive.

Taking a closer look at the enclosure itself, we see a sleek, grey aluminum casing with a fairly simple design (Geeks also offers a version in black). Thanks to the stand, the enclosure can be stood on end to provide a more slender profile. However, the enclosure didn’t come with features that many of the high-enclosures come with, such as a hard drive fan or an LED display.
