Acer 19” Widescreen LCD + ATI AIW VE Video Card Review
Sometimes it’s more important to choose a high-quality product that suits your needs rather than choosing the fanciest, more expensive one. Today, we will be testing that theory when we examine a couple of products that Geeks.com sent us: an Acer 19” widescreen LCD and an ATI All-in-wonder VE video card. While these two items don’t offer some of the features that the latest or more expensive models provide, will they prove to be a good value? Let’s see.

Starting with the monitor, the Acer 19” widescreen LCD monitor comes packaged in a cardboard box with a carrying handle and a list of features on the outside. Opening the box, the monitor is well secured in a custom styrofoam form, with a separate box containing the accessories.

Unwrapping the monitor from its padded bag, we find an all-black, thin, LCD monitor with a protective plastic covering on the screen. I have not experienced a widescreen monitor before and I immediately noticed the different aspect ratio as compared to a standard monitor. The package also comes with the standard power cable, VGA cable, and a hard copy and CD containing instructions.
