Kaser Radeon x1300 256MB PCI-E Video Card Review
Sometimes it’s more important to choose a high-quality product that suits your needs rather than choosing the fanciest, more expensive one. Especially when it comes to video cards, where the latest models can be the most expensive part of your build. Today, we will be testing that theory when we examine a budget-friendly video card that Geeks.com sent us: Kaser Radeon x1300 256MB PCI-e video card. While this isn’t the newest video card on the block, will it prove to be a good value? Read on to find out

The Kaser Radeon X1300 video card comes in a colorful box that most video cards come in with a stoic warrior on the front ready to do battle. The back of the box provides a list of features and specification of the card. Granted, this isn’t the most advanced video card available to date (I think it was originally released last year), but it does support Directx9. Probably not good enough for the latest gaming machines, but adequate for everyday computing. Plus it’s a lot cheaper than today’s cards.

Opening up the package, we find the video card snug inside a custom cardboard insert. Along with the video card itself, the package comes with a user manual, driver CD, and an S-video cable.

Examining the video card closely, we see a rather uncluttered video card by today’s standards. The top of the video card isn’t jammed-packed with RAM chips and other components, and the cooler is rather modestly sized. As you can see, the cooler has a small fan without a fan guard or anything; fairly plain but easy to upgrade.

Looking at the connectors, the X1300 256MB PCIe video card comes with a DVI, VGA, and S-video output. The card also supports dual display functions if needed, which is very nice. I wish I had enough desk space to take advantage of dual display.
