In case you haven’t noticed, digital cameras are everywhere, ranging for large professional models to tiny ones that fit on your cell phone. Odds are, if you own one, you have a bunch of digital photos but haven’t gotten around to printing them, which is expensive and time consuming. Geeks.com, popular online retailer, sent us a potential solution to this problem: a Digital Photo Frame, which allows you to display your pictures instantly without having to sit in front of a computer. Will this product be the answer? That is what we’re here to find out today.

As with all the products I’ve received from Geeks.com, the Digital Photo Frame arrived well-packaged in a large cardboard box. The outside of the package was rather plain; simply the name of the brand on two sides.

Opening the package, the first thing I noticed was how well-packaged the frame was; the frame itself was encased in a custom air-bubbled container that provided more than adequate protection (I know, it’s weird to be impressed by a container). Along with the photo frame itself, the package came with a remote control, a non-slip pad, AC adapter, video output cable, and instruction manual.

At 7 inches, the photo frame is a good size; not too big for a desk or mantle, yet large enough so that you can see the photos. Considering that most photo prints are 4 x 6 inches, the size shouldn’t be a problem for most applications. The frame has a simple yet nice black glossy border with a thin clear edge.

All of the memory card slots and controls can be accessed from the top of the frame, away from plain view. The frame accepts a wide variety of flash media, but one feature I thought was missing was the ability to accept was a USB flash drive. Also, the frame has no on-board memory; all the storage comes from external memory cards that are not included.
