Dell PC2100 SODIMM 512MB CL2,5
Ever sat on your laptop and thought it is just to slow? What can you do about it? Laptops are very limited when it comes to upgrades but you are able to upgrade the ram in a laptop without any problems. Usually you need to remove two screws and pop in the new ram. As you might have realized already we are taking a look at some laptop memory provided by Geeks.com. We got ourselves a new 512Mb ram stick to test. I thought that we should compare this to the original ram in the laptop and see what type of speed difference we can see between them.

Not much to say about the ram stick itself, it came packed in a standard ram plastic cover. On the memory stick stickers are mounted on both sides to give you information about it. You can for example see it's a Dell memory stick, and on the other side we can read what type of ram it is. Lets get on with the review and start focusing on the testing to see how this does perform.
Testing:
Acer Aspire 1355LC
AMD 2600+ Mobile
2*512 mb ram
40Gb HDD
Shared video
Software used for testing was Sisoft Sandra 2007, Pcmark2005 and SuperPi. Every test was done after a reboot and Windows was running idle with standard software isntalled.
Pcmark2005 Memory Benchmark:
In Pcmark you have the choice to run just a memory benchmark and that's excatly what we did. We can see here tha the Dell ram is actually a bit faster than the Kingston one.
