Looking at the side view of the mouse, it has a nice curved shape that fits well into the curve of your hand. There are 3 buttons of the left side of the mouse near the thumb, along with the single DPI switch further down. However, there are no buttons on the right side of the mouse, which I think is a missing feature present in most mice. I also would have liked to have seen the DPI switch on the top of the mouse, which is easier to access than where this switch is placed on this mouse.

Installing the mouse is pretty painless; simply plug the mouse into a free USB port and install the special software that comes with it. Once the mouse is plugged in, the sides of the scroll wheel becomes illuminated by a single blue LEDs, which I found to be a nice-looking feature. However, I missed the feature of the Intelliscope mouse where the LEDs changed colors depending on the DPI setting. I thought that was a cool feature that could have been added to this mouse also.

As mentioned in the features, one of the unique features of this mouse is the ability to record macros using the provided SWAT software. Macros are essentially a pre-defined set of actions that you program and then can replay with a click of one of the side buttons. And in this area, the mouse really shines. Recording macros is very easy, and the macros are very detailed, recording time inbetween actions and also length of button clicks. Macros can be easily assigned to the buttons and even transfer over when you move the mouse to a new PC. Very cool.
However, I thought the software was lacking general in other areas, such as programming the 5 buttons, adjusting the sensitivity, or setting the scroll wheel speed. These features were again featured in the Intelliscope software but were for some reason left out of the SWAT software.
I tested out the mouse for a few days in both gaming and non-gaming situations, and in both cases the mouse performed adequately but not great. The mouse glides smoothly and fits well in my hand, and the scroll wheel works fine and has great feel. However, I definitely missed being able to customize the mice buttons and also adjust the sensitivity.
When playing games such as Quake 4 and Battlefront 2, I found the two different DPI modes and the macros to be a handy feature. The difference in modes is definitely noticeable, allowing for either precise targeting or fast movements. While I’ve never really used macros in gaming before, I thought it was a nifty feature.
Conclusion:
The Cyber Snipa SWAT Gaming Mouse is a decent gaming mouse with a couple of cool features that you’ll be hard-pressed to find in other gaming mice, namely, the great macro software and the on-board memory that allows those macros to stay with the mouse. Along with the great features, the overall performance and feel of the mouse is solid and excels in both gaming and non-gaming situations. However, I did find that there were some areas where the mouse was lacking, preventing it from becoming my everyday mouse. But if you’re looking to bring macros to your gaming experience, you should check out this mouse.
