CoolIT Eliminator CPU Cooler Review

Recently, Niko had a chance to review the CoolIT Freezone CPU cooler and was impressed with its performance but not without some reservations. CoolIT sent us another one of the CPU cooler products, the Eliminator CPU cooler, which has a similar design yet is also geared towards “eliminating” noise as well as heat. Will it also eliminate the other CPU competition? We are going to put it through its paces to determine if that is the case.

About Coolit:

For years, CoolIT has been working with leaders in the computer industry to research, design, and provide an affordable new cooling product that provides a comprehensive solution for end users while exceeding high OEM standards. This carefully designed and patented technology unleashes the full potential of a PC, providing superior cooling performance while reducing system level noise and improving reliability of vital components. This small, but potent, pre-assembled product can be easily installed inside any standard chassis.

Aside from the current product offering, there are several additional products poised for release in the coming months to service the demanding cooling requirements of high performance video cards, multi-processor computers, and servers.

The same core technology being utilized in CoolIT's computer cooling products is being applied to enable other useful products that have novel appeal. The first of which is the CoolIT USB Beverage Chiller which will keep your beverage cold to the last drop running silently off your USB interface. We felt it only appropriate to help keep your beverage cold while you're enjoying your new CoolIT liquid chilled enhanced PC. CoolIT's expertise in the field of thermoelectric cooler utilization will pave the way for many other innovative products that will not only appeal to the most tech savvy users but to the broader market arena as well.

The CoolIT Eliminator CPU cooler comes in a sturdy box with the cooler prominently displayed on the front. The sides and back are filled with information regarding the cooler’s specifications and performance, along with nice pictures of the cooler. As noted in the specs, this cooler uses thermoelectric cooling (TEC), also known as peltier cooling, which is a charged surface that moves heat from one location to another.

Opening the package, the cooler can be found well-secured in a custom foam “sandwich”, ensuring the product comes to your door in one piece. Unlike the Freezone cooler, the Eliminator cooler is a single unit that contains everything: the electronics, CPU cooler block, fan, etc. Along with the cooler itself, you also get a set of bags filled with mounting hardware for various configurations. Surprisingly, the sample we received did not come with installation instructions; it’s likely that the retail products will come with an instruction manual. The CoolIT website also has a downloadable installation procedure.
