Coolermaster M1000W Powersupply review
The 1000W powersupplies are on the market, do we really need this much power? Do they perform so much better than lower wattage Psu´s do? These are a few questions we are going to look into today.
We got Coolermasters latest M1000 powersupply to test and we are today going to compare it vs a few very well performing Psu´s with a lower wattage than this one to see if there is any difference.
This unit comes equipped with six 12V rails and several 6 pin and 8 pin PCI-E power cables so it sure looks like a winner on paper with its ultra silent performance.

Inside the unit and the accessories are well packed into their own small compartment and surrounded by this black foam padding. Along with the PSU you get a power cable, manual, and a small bottle opener with a Coolermaster logo printed on it.

Since this powersupply is modular all the cables are nicely packed into their own little bag. All cables have their own compartment where they can be stored. This is a nice way of storing the cables and you don't risk losing any of them when you're not using them.
On the right picture we can see the unit itself. The back is covered by different colored connectors. They are colored different so you easily know which cable to connect where.

As we can also see there are incstrucions above the connectors so you know what cable to connect where. You cannot say that they are not helping you to connect this device!
There are six molex cable connectors, two 6 pin PCI-E and two 8 pin PCI-E connectors.
I just have to say that this PSU has a sick amount of 12V rails. It has six 12V rails that range from 18A all the way to 28A on the third and fourth rail.
