Coolermaster Itower 930 case

Coolermaster have made themselves known on the case market for their Stackar cases, they do of ocourse make other cases and today we will take a look at one of those. We got a sample of their Itower 930 which is a midi tower case made out of steel, yes you read it right steel, not aluminum as most cases are today. The main problem with a steel casing is the weight, but on the other hand you get rid of that rattling sound from an aluminum case.

The main question still remains though how well does a steel case work with todays components? Will it overheat? Is this really a case that consumers would like?

The case comes packed in a standard box from Coolermaster, with their logo in the top left corner and a picture of the product on the right. Inside you will find the black and silver case which is the size of a normal miditower case. Was it heavy since it's steel you might ask yourself. Yes of course it's heavier than aluminum but I don't think it would be to heavy at all to pack around to LAN parties for example.

The case itself is made out of 0.8mm thick steel painted in black while the front is made out of aluminum. The side is equipped with ventilation holes to ventilate the hot air out of the case.

As we can see on the right picture this case has no power supply so add on the price for a PSU on to your calculations if you buy this case. In the back you can mount a 120 mm fan to suck out the hot air out of the case.

The front of the case is shaped like a wave, this is apparently the "in" thing right now as I see this design from many different manufacturers. The grill on the front is right in front of the SATA swap units so fresh air can get to them. We also see that they have placed some extra ports in the front for your convenience so you don't have to strecth back behind the case.
