Coolermaster HyperTX Socket 775 CPU cooler
With the new Core2Duo processors you might want to get some decent cooling with it. The stock coolers tend to be to loud and still lack in performance and thats why this new cpu cooler from Coolermaster might be a good choice for you. The HyperTX seems to be silent and well performing, therefore we decided to run it vs a Zalman CNPS9700 to see how big the difference actually is, or if there is any?

The cooler comes packed in a plastic cover, so you can see the product before buying it. On the front of the package you can read about some good features this product has an on the back you have the specifications instead. One nice feature is supposed to be the new 90mm fan that which is supposed to be able to perform better than a 100mm fan so that reamins to be seen though.

Inside with the cooler you will find a small broschure that will explain how you mount this cooler. It's quite easy though you push pins 2.4 and then 1.3 down. As we can see this cooler is equipped with a 92 mm fan that is supposed to be quiet, as it should make max 22dBA noise. The fan is mounted to the heatsink with rubber clips which prevent the vibrations to move to the heatsink itself. This stops unnecessary vibrations which create noise.

On the pictures we can see that around the heatsink a plastic "shroud" is mounted so the fan can push the air the right way. The left picture shows well how the heatpipes go from the core all the way through the heatsink to the top. This way the heat is spread all through the heatsink itself. The heatsink itself is high quality, we can see that on the fins already, they are not bent and they are perfectly alinged away from each other.
