Asus U6V Laptop Review

Asus are well known for their high quality products which range all the way from coolers to laptops. This is the first time we are going to test a laptop from Asus and we got their last super portable U6V model which has a smaller screen to make it more portable but it still seems to have fast parts inside. At a price around 1500$ this thing better perform well so lets take a closer look.

When opening the box I found two batteries, which is not the case when you will get yours. We got a standard size battery and the large battery that actually holds up to 6 hours of battery time in the power saving mode in Windows Vista. You also get a cable holder and a cd with drivers/software and one with a manual.

Ofcourse you also get a power adapter and cable to power and charge your laptop, the adapter is 110-240V so it will work all over the world.

Right from the start I got a luxury feeling over this laptop as it came packed in a very nice separate box that has a cloth padding inside that keeps the laptop free from scratches and dents. The cover has a nice glossy touch to it and a silver Asus logo is placed in the center of the lid.

The keys come in a nice aluminum color like the screen itself, the wrist rest is padded with a real leather cover while the touchpad of the mouse is black plastic which almost looks like black brushed aluminum. On the touchpad you also have a small fingerprint sensor that makes your laptop more secure with the fingerprint software that Asus includes with the laptop.

The keyboard is very nice to type on and you will find extra functions on the keys by pushing the FN key which will activate various functions on the keys. If we look closer on the right picture we get a better shot at the leather wrist pad which gives a very exclusive feeling.
