Asus EAH 4850 TOP Videocard Review

The 4850 videocards seem to be the best bang for the buck cards on the market right now. Asus has released a TOP version which is a factory overclocked card and it also has a big Glacier cooler on it to keep the noise down. We are going to compare it vs some other high performing cards today and see if this TOP card really adds some top performance to it.

About Asus:

Check out their website.

Graphics GPU Features:

Radeon
HD 4850 PCIE
PCIE 2.0
1 GB DDR3

256 bit 625 1.986 GHz
Glaciator fansink
Dual slot
HDTV DVI-I*2
(1HDCP) DVI-HDMI adapter
Premium DX10.1, OpenGL2.1, Shader Model 4.1

I tried to Google this card and also find some specifications on Asus website but was unable to get them there either. The card still seems fairly new and comes packed in a orange and black box with specifications printed on the back of the box. On the front you can also see that they advertise the card to be 9% faster due to the factory overclock and it should also be more silent due to their big heatsink/fan that is mounted on the card.

Inside the box the card, manuals, accessories all have their own little box they are stored in during shipping. In the cable section I found a crossfire bridge, S-video to RGB adapter, VGA to HDMI and HDMI to DVI adapters.

You will ofcourse get a manual, driver cd and also a cd with a pdf manual.

The heatsink on this card is needed to keep the TOP card stable and it also prevents you from having to listen to a loud 40 mm fan. The Glacier cooler is awesome in my eyes, it has a big fan which actually keeps the noise and temperature levels alot lower than any other card.

The card is equipped with two DVI connectors and a S-video connector, they are all protected with a plastic plug/cover to prevent dust and dirt to get into the card.

You will need a empty PCI-E power cable or atleast a molex cable as there is an adapter included so you can run this card even if you have a older PSU.
