Arctic cooling Fans 8 (80mm),9 (92mm) and 12 (120mm)
Arctic Cooling has made great products in the past, they have chosen to concentrate their products on the silent market.
We have seen several nice products that have been reviewed on websites and they all come out with almost perfect ratings. We got some new fans from Arctic Cooling
to take a closer look at. These fans have a different design from original fans, they almost miss the plastic cover around it, well it's hard to explains
so lets take a closer look at these.

About Arctic Cooling:
Who we are
AR of ARCTIC COOLING is a private owned company founded in 2001 with headquarters in Switzerland, offices in Hong Kong and with production facilities in Asia. The teamCTIC COOLING insists on international young highly educated people with business, technical and communicational skills. The attitude to work is based on the Swiss innovative spirit and adheres to the high Swiss standard recognized internationally. This striving for excellence is integrated in all processes and is a matter of course. ARCTIC COOLING's core competencies are multifarious such as systematic noise reduction, copper and aluminum heatsinks, customizing of thermal solutions, “Just-in-time” fan manufacturing, Ceramic Bearing, Multiple Signal Output / BIOS interface and low noise Fan Blade Design.
What we do:
ARCTIC COOLING is a leader in creating thermal cooling solution for personal computer systems that enable CPU (Central Processing Unit), GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) and PC-case cooling while reducing the noise level. Increased heat generated by modern computer systems has overwhelmed most existing CPU cooler manufacturers in their efforts to keep pace with the demands in terms of cooling. At the same time noise pollution caused by today's IT-systems has increased, severely affecting productivity in open office environments.
ARCTIC COOLING has been working with globally recognized companies in the graphics industry. Through these partnerships ARCTIC COOLING is privileged in gaining latest know-how about graphics for developing new cooling solutions. ARCTIC COOLING combines the Swiss art of engineering to realize innovative cooling ideas. Due to the low labor cost in Asia, ARCTIC COOLING's highly customized products with high performance remain affordable. Cooling system solutions are created from the demand of end-users. According to constant product development the demands of end-users will always be satisfied. As a result of the head-start ARCTIC COOLING has in knowing end-user's requirements, manufacturing possibilities and ARCTIC COOLING's strong R&D, ARCTIC's products will continue to be the trendsetter in cooling systems and provides assemblers, Computer Hardware distributors and IT-technicians with innovative, virtually silent, cost-effective Cooling solutions for CPU, GPU and PC-case worldwide.
Vision: Providing thermal solutions optimized to reduce noise for our global customer base.
Specifications:
Efficient Ventilation
The cooling of all PC components rests on that warm air is drawn out of the housing. As a rule the power unit cannot provide a good ventilation of the housing, without its' fan running at a high number of revolutions therewith causing much noise.
An additional fan like the Arctic Fan 3 solves this problem. The power unit fan can substantially lower its speed and thereby work more quietly.
The ventilation of the housing using two fans produces at the same airflow less than half of the noise. (5dB more is perceived as twice as loud for noise levels below 35 dB)
Extremely Quiet
The patented fan holder is able to practically eliminate the typical buzzing sound of 80 mm fans.
Patent No 203 07 981 U1 (Germany)
Patent No 10/834 232 (USA)
6 Years Warranty
The Arctic Ceramic bearing offers a unique 163’000 h MTBF at 70°C. Therefore we grant a unique 6 years warranty.

These fans are named 8,9 and 12 and that of course stands for the size on them.
They are all packed in similar packages, and all around the box you have features and specifications on the fans.
Included with each fan is a small zip lock bag with four screws and a Arctic Cooling case badge.

On the left picture I have compared the 92 mm Arctic Cooling fan vs the older 92 mm Zalman fan and we can really see
the difference on the plastic housing around the fan, as on the AC one there is barely any plastic on it.
The blade and motor part is mounted with rubber clips on to the base of the fan itself. These rubber clips prevent
the fan from vibrating and making more noise. On the back of the base you have four screw holes for mounting the fan.
It can only be mounted one way though as I see it as it does not have holes on the front side.
